Bay 3 TV Service Update

January 18, 2016

The Bay City Public Schools formally notified the County of Bay of their withdrawal from the Cooperative Operation of Education/Governmental Access Channel Bay 3 TV, effective June 30, 2016. The Bay City Public Schools acted as managing partner for this government access channel which at one time was comprised of the City of Bay City and the County of Bay. The City of Bay City terminated their participation in 2011.

The Bay County Board of Commissioners, at their January 12th meeting expressed their continued support and encouragement that Bay County Administration look into the possibility of continuation of programming in an effort to provide education, information and governmental transparency to the citizens of Bay County.

Programming is available on Charter Communications Channel 190. Live streaming is also available 24/7 days a week, by visiting www.livestream.com/bay3tv. Additionally, Bay County maintains a Youtube channel where residents have the option of streaming multiple videos and Board meetings.

More information on Bay City Public Schools decision to discontinue their support of the program can be found by viewing the recent MLive.com article.
