Bay County Sheriff's Marine Division

The Marine Division operates seasonal patrols on the Saginaw River, Kawkawlin River, and the Saginaw Bay. For any issues regarding the Marine Division, you may contact the Sheriff's Office at (989) 895-4050.


Snowmobile Patrol

The Snowmobile Patrol's primary functions are patrolling the Saginaw Bay and connecting waterways such as the Saginaw River and KawKawlin River.  The Snowmobile Patrol's primary goal is to create a safe  recreational environment for recreational enthusiasts.

 

Boater Safety 

Boating Safety classes begin after the first of the year. All classes are conducted through the schools at the seventh grade level. Additional classes may be arranged, by request, for any group of 15 or more. These classes are conducted in blocks totaling six (6) hours of instruction.

Vessel Safety Check

Vessel Safety Checks can be performed by any USCG-approved marine deputy. They can be performed at any time while on the water. (While these checks are at your request, they are subject to the availability of the Marine Unit at that time.) Safety checks may also be done by appointment, either at the Bay County Boat Ramp of your choice, or at your home marina. These appointments may be made by contacting the Bay County Sheriff's Office at (989) 895-4050. See the attached form for sample vessel safety check information.
