Lakeshore Legal Aid offers legal advice to Seniors 60 years and over.  There is no client income eligibility requirement for service under this grant.  If an appointment is scheduled an Attorney from the agency comes to the Department on Aging main office, 515 Center Avenue, Bay City, Michigan, 48708, the first and third Wednesday of the month by appointment only.

The Michigan Legislature has prepared and distributes a handbook to assist persons to prepare a Michigan statutory Will and Advance Directives for Health Care.  This handbook facilitates making and organizing most necessary documents, including personal records, medical and prescription records, organ donations, as well as a Will and Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care matters (POA).  The handbook is titled Planning Your Peace of Mind. The office of your local state representative or state senator can provide you with free copies upon request.

If any senior has trouble using or filling in the Michigan statutory Will handbook, they may also call the Lakeshore Legal aid attorney hot line at 1-888-783-8190.
