2012 Men's County Tournament

The Annual County Tournament is one of the longest standing golf tournaments in our area.  This much anticipated tournament is always full of tradition and excitement.  Once a year all levels of amateur golfers come out to the County Golf Course and attempt to mark their name in county history....from Jerry Snable (11 time champion) to recent high school graduates, to your once a week league golfer, everyone wants his shot at winning 'The County'!  We would like to thank all participants for having the largest field ever!  In addition we had 3 of our 5 flights go into sudden death playoff

This year was no exception!!  The following are the Champion Golfers of 2012:

2012 Men's County Champions.....Justin Holyszko..........Jeff Roscoe.....Preston Oakes.....Tim Corcoran.....Tyson Knaub

2012 OVERALL CHAMPION

2012 Championship Flight Champion

Justin Holyszko

Round 1 - 72 (E)

 Round 2 - 73   (+1)

  TOTAL -   145 (+1)

Another win for Justin and it did not happen without a fight.  Justin was 7 shots down to Nick Spencer heading into the back nine and gritted his way to make up those 7 shots and tie Nick with a 1 over par 145 total.  The two went into a sudden death playoff that lasted 3 holes.  After securing par on #3 Justin was on his way to another title.  Kudos to Nick Spencer for a great tournament and the added excitement down the stretch.  Once again Congratulations Mr. Holyszko!

We have to start calling Tim Mr. Money in the Bank, because of his consistent play and growing trophy case.  Tim edged out Gene Rhode by 1 stroke with a nothing but exciting dual that came down to the last hole.  Both with experience in winning championships made it that much better to watch.  In the end a respectful champion was crowned.  Great job Tim!

Views from the Tourney.....

Nick Spencer narrowly missed out on winning his first County Championship

Justin Holyszko goes  on to win another County Championship.  he had to go into a playoff to do it!

Brett Baranek shows he's still got it from his days competing for All Saints.  It's getting to be a long time ago Brett!

Jake Coquillard last year's first flight champion rips one down the first fairway to open the tournament.

Drew Vogl was in contention again this year.  He is very close at breaking through and winning his first County title

Tom Rezler.. Mr. Fairways and greens proves he  still can commpte with the young guns in the County Championship.

Dustin Vogl is trying to make a name for himself to prove he is a contender in the County.

Scott DeWyse made a name for himself in the last few years and continued to prove he is a worthy contender.

Mike Dore is more than just a long hitter.  He has proven again and again that he is an elite player in the area.

Jon Dammer another quality player is putting his skills to the test this year by striping his first drive right down the middle.

Addison Pafford proves he's more than just a great caddie with this nice swing on the first tee.  Addison has made a run for the title and has come up just short.

Steve Ancel holds nothing back on this backswing as he begins his opeing round at the Bay County Championship.

Bo Herek the free swinging let's play in a  scramble guy lets loose on his opening drive.

Brian Osentowski shows that lefties are not to be messed with.  Brian qualified for his first Halub Cup this year and proved his prowess on the course.

Matt Hechlik don't let the smile fool you as he bears down and fires his opening drive right down the middle.

Dave Dietlein better known as "Carp" makes his patented swing and fires a swinging hook down the first hole.  Go get 'em Carpie!

Rocky Denham III uses his small stature to try and drive the green on #2.  And I do believe he got there.

Tyson Knaub hits one down the middle on #2 on way to another County Championship.

Michael Iannacchione steps up and drills a drive down the left side of the fairway on #10.

The following list of names is sure to bring back memories and attribute to the tremendous golfing experience and quality gentlemen that we have had the honor to play in our event.  Congratulations to all players on this list, but also to every player that has ever participated over the years.  Thank You for the memories.....and the ones to follow.
